We’ve seen some exhilarating cars come out of Britain, and we know what British luxury automakers are capable of when it comes to combining luxury and performance. Still, Jaguar is in a whole different class.
With a stunning lineup of high-end sedans, sports coupes, and SUVs, Jaguar is a top brand you can rely on for sharp rides and immense comfort anytime, any day. The luxury car manufacturer is also active in the EV scene with the alluring I-pace. It also has some highly-rated hybrid models to its name.
For the 2022 model year, the British luxury automaker has made a couple of redesigns to maintain an excellent lineup while succumbing to the latest trends.
Here are the major changes in Jaguar’s lineup for 2022
The F-type has undergone several redesigns in the past few years, so for 2022, the sports car will get more updates in its powertrain. The previously standard 4-cylinder engine and the optional supercharged V6 phased out from the 2022 F-type lineup. The new F-type will now offer two variants of the 5.0Liter supercharged V8. The lower models will be powered by the 444-horsepower version of this engine, while the R performance model will get motivation from the enhanced 575-horsepower version of the same engine.
After skipping the 2021 model year, Jaguar’s first all-electric SUV returns with new features such as an intuitive infotainment system that looks up-to-date. It also gets a fast 11-kW charger that will juice up the I-pace’s 90.0-kWh battery in 8.6-hours against the 7-kW in its previous model that would take 12.6-hours. There’s also an impressive feature that tells the driver the location of the nearest charging station.
For 2022, Jaguar’s E-pace will be a carryover model with very few updates. The British luxury automaker will also offer a mild-hybrid model that generates extra 50-horsepower at the P300 sport trim just like in the previous year.
The stunning and award-winning F-pace is the company’s best-selling car. For 2022, Jaguar will prefer to stick with the formula that has proven to drive sales, adding only a plug-in hybrid model to improve the SUV’s fuel efficiency further and support environmental friendliness. There will also be a fire-breathing SVR variant for the F-pace this year.
The luxury automaker hasn’t said anything about the speculations surrounding the future of its luxury sedan, the XF. But we anticipate an all-electric XF in the coming years.
