The Guts Of The 2025 Cadillac Celestiq: Concise Preview

Like nearly every other major brand in the auto sector, GM has promised to embrace electrification in a colossal way. The 2021 CES trade show was filled with intriguing revelations about GM’s electrification plans. Besides the big news of the upcoming Cadillac Lyriq SUV, Cadillac announced that it would be coming out with an all-electric luxury sedan, the Celestiq.

The Cadillac Celestiq will serve as the flagship vehicle for the Cadillac’s EV lineup. This luxury electric sedan is a true flagship luxury sedan, fully packed with trailblazing technologies and exceptional build quality than any other Cadillac car. Inside, it sports a super spacious cabin with comfortable seats, a huge infotainment display, and pillowy ride quality. While Cadillac has not offered much information about its upcoming flagship luxury electric sedan, we expect it to be packed with the latest and best GM technologies and be available for leasing by 2025.

So, What’s there To Expect From the All-New 2025 Cadillac Celestiq?

Cadillac Escala Concept

The Cadillac Escala concept-inspired all-new Celestiq will take styling cues from the Escala concept, and that includes getting a large exterior dimension with sleek styling and a fastback sloping roofline. Inside is a huge cabin with super spacious, comfortable, and supportive seats you can expect from an ultra-luxury sedan. Besides the upscale design and luxurious appointments, the interior has the latest tech niceties in the GM’s armor. The sophisticated cabin also sports a dash with a giant infotainment screen that nearly covers the entire dash. There are also extra screens for passengers at the back.

Also, the Escala concept suggests (which is already confirmed) that the Celestiq will boast handcrafted interior elements and an SPD-SmartGlass roof. The upcoming Celestiq could also feature the latest GM’s Ultra Cruise.

Powertrain & Performance

Not much information is available on the upcoming Cadillac Celestiq ye. However,  it has been confirmed that this flagship electric sedan will be on the GM’s BEV3 all-electric platform, which utilizes both the Ultium battery technology and the Ultium drive motor system, already available in some of the GM’s new EVs. It is also clear that this luxury electric sedan will offer both all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive variants. This means that instead of one electric motor, it could come with dual-electric motors, one on each axle. When it’s finally available, it will likely sprint from 0 to 60 mph in about 5 seconds.

Range & Charging

With its Ultium battery pack of up to 100 kWh, Cadillac claims that the upcoming Celestiq will have a range of at least 300 to 400 miles per charge.

While Cadillac will release more details about its flagship luxury electric sedan by mid-year, it could be released by 2023 and be available for leasing by 2024 as a 2025 model.
