The Nissan Altima, a mid-size sedan has been in vogue since 1992. It is has grown to be one of the most powerful and more luxurious sedan cars. The latest generation of Altima coming in different but similar grades, have some far distinct tweaks, keeping it clear ahead of some close competitors. Starting from the exterior design, the 2020 Altima is a true definition of class in sedans. With cutting lines made deep and flowing from front to back, blending seamlessly into the new muscular hood. The new model of Altima is extraordinary.
The first-ever Nissan’s sedan with a standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system. This Nissan is also fully equipped with lots of top-notch safety features, like Nissan’s Safety Shield 360. Other features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams. All of these features and much more are standard on SR trim and higher, and optional on the base S trim. The S grade has a standard basic automatic emergency braking and forwards collision warning. The engine and performance, the interior quality, and other available advanced driving features make this latest model a pure joy to drive.
A glimpse of the all-new Altima leaves nothing but pleasure in the eyes. Its sleek flow of deep cutting lines and buoyant roof design evokes the feeling of elegance. Also, the muscular hood and the glaring V-Motion grille boldly point to fun ride time. The V-motion grille will certainly hand anyone a lasting first impression. The deep cutting lines run from the muscular hood to the rear. The classy LED headlights provide better visibility for the driver. The LED fog lights also create boomerang taillights around the back end of the sedan. However, this is available only in bad weather. The 2020 Nissan sedan offers a 19-inch frameless wheels feature, with a black-out design for a unique knife-like effect.
Interior And Cargo
The interior of the 2020 Altima is a class and style on its own. The steering wheel is D-shaped, with a new design of matte chrome steering wheel controls. You can smoothly go through your music files, make calls, access the available driving technologies, and much more with ease, just at the touch of a button. Also, the heated steering wheel will be very much needed for your hands on cold days.
The front seats are redesigned with a heating sequence to offer comfort and pleasure to the driver and passenger. The cabin is well defined, adding delight to the eye. The side and back bolster support help provide much-needed comfort. The zero-gravity front seats make it easier to adjust the position, especially in a long ride.
The new Altima trunk is very roomy, 15.4-cubic-foot trunk, and five-passenger seating capacity.
Engine And Performance
The engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a naturally aspirated I4 gas engine making 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque with front-wheel drive. The engine is linked to a CVT. An optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, with a 248-horsepower, serves as an upgrade. It also uses the continuously variable automatic transmission.
The EPA of the 2020 Altima model is rated at 28 mpg city and 39 mpg highway. However, the higher grades are at 25 mpg city and 34 mpg highway, while the all-wheel-drive models can earn up to 26 mpg city and 36 mpg highway as the VC-Turbo engine produces 25 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.
